Sweet Dreams Naturally: How to Use doTERRA Serenity for a Peaceful Night’s Sleep

October 10, 2025

Have you ever had one of those nights when your mind just won’t stop running? You’re cozy in bed, but your brain is still replaying the day or planning tomorrow’s to-do list. We’ve all been there. For me, one of the best ways to create a calm, restful bedtime routine has been adding doTERRA Serenity Restful Blend to my nightly routine.

Serenity is one of those essential oil blends that just feels like a sigh of relief. Its soothing aroma sets the tone for relaxation and helps make bedtime something you look forward to instead of something you struggle through.

Creating a Calming Bedtime Atmosphere

Before bed, I like to dim the lights, put away screens, and diffuse Serenity for about 30 minutes while getting ready for bed. The warm, tranquil scent fills the room, making it easier to unwind from the day.

You can also apply a drop or two to the bottoms of your feet or wrists (diluted with a carrier oil if you have sensitive skin). It’s a small, sensory reminder that it’s time to rest and reset.

DIY Serenity Sleep Spray

Here’s one of my favorite nighttime rituals—a DIY pillow and linen spray made with Serenity. It’s simple to make and turns your room into a calm, spa-like retreat.

You’ll need:

  • 2 oz glass spray bottle
  • 1 tablespoon witch hazel or vodka (to help the oils disperse)
  • 10–12 drops doTERRA Serenity essential oil blend
  • Distilled water

To make:

  1. Add the witch hazel or vodka to the spray bottle.
  2. Add the Serenity drops.
  3. Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water.
  4. Shake gently before each use.

Spritz your pillow, sheets, or even the air around your room before bedtime. The soothing scent helps set the tone for rest and relaxation.

A Gentle Reminder

Serenity doesn’t “make” you sleep—it simply helps create a peaceful atmosphere where your body and mind can naturally unwind. Think of it as a gentle cue to slow down, breathe deeply, and allow your evening to flow into rest.

So tonight, dim the lights, put away your phone, spritz your Serenity spray, and let your mind drift into calm. Because a peaceful night leads to a brighter morning—and who couldn’t use a little more of that?
